Waja Becomes the Quidditch Post's New COO

The Quidditch Post is delighted to announce the hiring of Mo Waja as its new Chief Operations Officer (COO), effective immediately. Waja comes to the Quidditch Post with experience in entrepreneurship and digital marketing across social media marketing, content marketing, and brand strategy. Waja will join interim co-CEOs Austin Wallace and Andy Marmer, CFO Ryan Cleary, and interim Editor-in-Chief (EIC) Lindsay Garten as a member of  the Quidditch Post’s C-suite.

“We are excited to bring Mo on board, and we will be supporting his mandate to make substantial improvements to our organization, both internally and externally,” Wallace said. “Mo’s diverse portfolio of skills, and specifically his leadership and marketing experience, will be key assets for the Quidditch Post as we move forward.”

Outside of the Quidditch Post, Waja currently works as a professional speaker, public speaking instructor, and independent marketing consultant with clients in the retail, technology, and financial sectors.

“Media plays a critical role in the growth of any and every community, and quidditch is no different,” Waja said. “The way we tell our story will guide the way the world sees us, and so the evolution of our sport. As a former quidditch player, I see joining the Quidditch Post as a real and meaningful way to give back and help build the quidditch community by being one of the voices that will, I hope, help curate that story in the most powerful way possible.”

Waja’s hiring fills the first of a number of C-suite positions recently available with the start of the new year. With the resignation of  former CEO Chula Bruggeling, the Quidditch Post is actively seeking candidates for a CEO. The Quidditch Post is also seeking candidates for the new role of Editor-in-Chief. The positions for both CEO and EIC can be found here and here, respectively.
